OUR LADY OF THE LAKE
SCHOOL
Our Lady of the Lake School (OLL) Parents Club organizes this annual auction, bringing together a special volunteer steering committee, to help raise needed funds each year for the school. OLL is a private non-profit school in north Seattle known since 1949 for its dedication to and delivery of academic excellence and extracurricular programming. The average eighth grade student at OLL tests in the top ten percent of all public and private schools in the United States.
Nurturing the hearts, minds and spirits is central to the OLL education philosophy so its students can in turn contribute fully and productively to the further enrichment of their community. In keeping with this, community outreach is core to the OLL program which requires students to actively give of themselves back to their community. OLL students, for example, volunteer thousands of service hours at food banks, community and church programs.
This event is the largest fundraiser of the year and all proceeds support the educational programs at the school. In addition, and in keeping with its community values, Our Lady of the Lake sets aside funds raised at the auction for tuition assistance so that children, who would not otherwise have access, are provided this support.
Each year the OLL auction adopts a stage setting theme. Last year our theme was "Le Cirque". The theme for this year is "MAD Gala" - a creative tribute to the popular AMC TV series MAD MEN - a tribute we hope to interpet in our own fun and definitely and uniquely OLL way.
Auction night promises to be a 1950s/60s classic and an evening where we hope everyone will play their favorite characters and make this a night to remember and a spectacular event for the school.
